NABL Accreditation IS the highest level of accreditation for laboratories in India. It follows and is connected to International Laboratory Accreditation Council via Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Council is the specific International Standards for Medical Testing Laboratories.
Out of estimated 1,50,000 labs in India, only around 500 labs have been able to get this accreditation so far, that means only 3% labs are able to make it to NABL Accreditation.
QUALITY CONTROL
At all the tests at BIO-DIAGNSOTICS® are done using fully and Semi automated instruments and internationally acclaimed reagents and controls. The Quality control is maintained and it can be described at 2 levels
1.Internal quality controls:
o BIO-RAD controls: They are standardized controls supplied by BIORAD,USA with certain ranges for each parameter and is used for all theClinical Bio-Chemistry , Heamatological and Urine parameters
o ROCH controls: These controls are run for all Immuno-Assay parameters both on the normal(PRECICONTROL UNIVERSAL abnormal range everyday before starting the assay in all batches.
o Kit controls: These are available along with the kit bought and they reflect the assay performance for the kit. These are run daily along with the samples,eg.ELISA and RIA parameters.
o The values obtained by running the above control samples are monitored by means of plotting LEVEY-
JENNING plots and is summarized once in a week with obtained SD and %CV evaluating the weekly performance of the assay.
o The software randomly puts 20% of the total test volumes for rechecking on a daily basis. The software also
compares the obtained values to the earlier ones. This helps in assessing the reproducibility of our assays.
2. External quality control (EQAS)
BIO-DIAGNSOTICS® participates in 3 different external quality control Proficiency Testing
o EQAS (External Quality Assurance Services) from BIORAD, USA
o EQAS (External Quality Assurance Services ) from Association of Clinical Biochemist of India ,CMC Vellore)
o EQAS (External quality Assurance Services ) from AIIMS for Hematology
o EQAS (External quality Assurance Service )from Ganga Ram Hospital for MICROBILOGY and SEROLOGY
