| This assay is used to evaluate diabetic patients to assess the potential of early onset of nephropathy before overt proteinuria develops. It is recommended that all Type 1 diabetic patients >12 years and all Type 2 diabetic patients < 70 years should be tested for microalbuminuria annually. |
